Community Involvement

  • March of Dimes - Every year the Charlotte Mother’s of Multiples participates in the March of Dimes “March for Babies” in Charlotte, NC. The walk is always the last week of April and takes place along a 3 mile stretch of downtown Charlotte. As parents of multiples, all of us have been affected by the money raised by the March of Dimes as funding goes towards research and programs that promote the health of babies as well as advocates for newborn screening and health insurance for all pregnant women and children. March of Dimes also funds local programs that gives moms-to-be the best chance of having healthy babies as well as providing comfort and information to families with a baby in intensive care. For more information on how to get involved or sign up to walk contact membersupport@charlottemultiples.com.

  • Race for Fetal Hope - As Fetal Hope supports families diagnosed with TTTS and SIUGR, syndromes largely affecting multiple birth pregnancies, CMOMs partners with them in creating awareness about their support programs and services. The 2011 event is slated for October 29th at Village Park in Kannapolis, NC and registration is open at www.raceforfetalhope.org. CMOMs are a supporter of this 5k event as the Kids Fun Run Sponsor. Questions or want to get involved? Contact events@charlottemultiples.com.

  • We also participate in monthly NICU support meetings at both Presbyterian Hospital and CMC Uptown.  Each of these meetings is hosted by a CMOMs member who is there to provide support and comfort for parents with children in the NICU.

  • During our semi-annual consignment sales, we allow community organizations (pregnancy centers, orphanages, etc.) to receive a significant amount of donated items that our members choose to donate at the end of the sale. For further information about our Community Involvement, contact our VP of Community Outreach via email at communityoutreach@charlottemultiples.com.
